The renovation of a roughly 130 square metre apartment in Hong Kong's Ho Man Tin district draws on both the owners' art collection and feng shui principles. Designer Quinn Wong arranged the interior as a sequence of calm but distinct rooms.
A partition near the front door creates a transitional hall and prevents a direct view into the living area. A deep indigo frame introduces the water element while serving as a strong visual motif.
Furniture, textiles and paintings are not final additions but help determine the rhythm of the layout. Darker tones balance pale walls, while individual works receive enough space to avoid competing with one another.
The project took about a year and demonstrates the practical side of symbolic rules. Feng shui operates here as a tool for organising privacy, movement and the emotional experience of arriving home.
